ABOUT US

Every wedding is important to me from the humble to the elaborate.  It's a happy and positive experience and I still tingle all over when I pronounce a couple as being husband and wife.  It is my practice to take a photograph of each wedding I do (some appear on this web page) to enable me to look back on your day. These photos remain with me and I do ask your permission first. 

Every Wedding is a public announcement of love and commitment and I'm constantly aware of my role of ensuring that your wedding is given the most delicate and professional attention possible. It is my opinion that a Wedding Celebrant should be heard by all your guests at the wedding.  I use a very strong voice projection to ensure this.  This doesn’t mean I yell the ears off those in the wedding party but rather seek to involve guests in the process of your marriage by addressing them as well.

In the new millennium when most of us are busy people with work and family commitments, I have and will negotiate to interview couples in their own homes if it is mutually convenient.  It has been my experience that our work times and children have made travel difficult for some couples and this along with the idea that I believe sometimes that people are far more relaxed in their own homes.

I have lived on the Sunshine Coast for 15 years.  I was born and raised in Brisbane (1959) however I was always visiting the Gold and Sunshine Coasts with my love for the beach, either in surf clubs or just surfing.  I guess I really grew up on the beach, which is a large part of Australian culture today.  (One in four of we Australians live within a twenty minute drive of the beach.) The ocean represents to me total relaxation and enjoyment.  Its freshness and coolness are rejuvenating to my soul.

I love doing weddings as I get to perform a happy occasion and meet many new interesting people.  Indeed meeting many people over the years has helped my understanding of the needs of people and the problems that can arise.  I have gained valuable knowledge of the wedding industry as well as the legal requirements to enable me to perform my duty most diligently.  Consequently I have made many contacts in regards to wedding venues, photographers, other Civil Marriage Celebrants, musicians, hire companies etc and have many of their cards in my folio.

My promise above all else is to do a job with your wedding that you'll be proud of.
